Carolyn Kay Nettles Franklin

(Kay Baby)

Carolyn Kay Nettles Franklin was born August 6, 1945

in Marlin, Tx, to the parentage of Lester James Nettles

and Miller B. Greer. She was the eldest of seven, four

girls, three boys and was affectionately known as Kay

Baby to her grandparents and siblings. Her educational

foundation was secured through both Downsville

School and Midway ISD.

Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age, and attended

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Hewitt, TX. At the age of

seventeen, she met and married the absolute love of her

Ife, Fheodore Franklin on April 17, 1963. To their

union, 5 beautiful blessings were born. Together, they

attended Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where

she served as Church Secretary.

many hats as custodian as well as serving on the

culinary staff, Carolyn was proudly employed by Waco

ISD for many years, and in her spare time, she loved to

bake.
