Obituary

Javan Benson passed away leaving behind a legacy shaped by resilence,

hard work, and quiet acts of care. He was a man of simple babits and strong

routines, known for living life on his own terms.

Javan was an avid gardener who found joy and purpose in tending to the

earth. He grew tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers with care, and those who

knew him will remember the pride be took in nurturing what he planted.

Much of his life reflected a resourcefulness born from experience.

He was rarely seen without his old white truck, a steady companion

through the years, or sitting on the porch with a cigarette, taking in the day in

his own quiet way. Javan could be tough and, at times, bard in his demeanor,

but beneath that was a man who meant well and showed love in ways that

were often unspoken.

One of his most meaningful roles was caring for his young grandson during

a difficult time after the loss of his daughter. In that, be demonstrated a deep

sense of responsibility and family commitment that will not be forgotten.

Javan is preceded in death by his beloved wife and daughter, Christine

Benson and Kristin Benson; his parents, E. S. Benson and Anna Benson; his

sisters, Evelyn Benson and Gwendolyn Benson-White; his brothers, Andrew

Benson, Buck Benson, and O. B. Benson; his sister-in-law, Viola Benson;

and his great-nephew, La Cedric Thompson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, O. D. Benson and Roosevelt

Benson; his son, James Benson Sr.(Chastity Benson; his grandchildren,

James Benson II (Amanda Benson), Xavier Benson, Trayvon Benson, Kashae

Townsend, Jennell Benson Maxwell (Cameron Maxwell, and Jada Benson;

seven great-grandchildren; special late in life mate, Ms. Allis, and a bast of

family and friends who love him dearly.

Though not everyone knew bim closely Javan Benson's life leaves behind

stories, lessons, and memories that will live on through the family be helped shape and the lives he touched in his own way.
